Among the Gnostics there is a story known as the Hymn of the Pearl.  It is Humanity's story....

In it the child of the “King of All Kings” leaves his homeland to Quest for a serpent’s treasure.  In the course of this Quest he is served poison and fed lies until forgetting everything.  His home and heritage.  His true identity.  His Quest.  Everything.  That is until a message from home restores the child’s memory and clarity and leads him to Victory in the Quest.

We are the child, lost in the material condition and unclear of our true origin and purpose.

The Victory inherent in Knowledge is our birthright.
