THE
INDIVIDUAL EGO-IDENTITY IS BUT A WAVE IN AN INFINITESIMAL OCEAN OF WAVES; A CONCENTRATED CREST WITH ITS OWN UNIQUE POTENTIAL
TIBETAN
BUDDHIST
One must know that no existing thing has an independent existence. One
must know that all things are interdependent.
BIBLICAL
(Ephesians
4:25): We are members, one of another.
BUDDHIST
(Shantideva
8-12): Why should I be unable to regard
the bodies of others as “I”? It is not difficult to see that my body
is also that of others.
(Lankavatara,
from Sutra 78): All things are devoid
of self-nature (separate existence); things separated from concatenation belong to the discrimination of the ignorant.
TAOISM
(Chuang
Tzu 27): The ten-thousand things all come
from the same seed, and with their different forms they give a place to one another.
SIKHISM
(Adi
Granth, Japuji 2): Says Nanak, Should
man realize the power of the Law, he would certainly disclaim his ego (self).
HINDUSIM
(Katha
Upanishad): He is one, the lord and the
innermost self of All; of one form he makes himself many forms. To him who sees the Self revealed in his own heart, belongs eternal bliss.
(Bhagavad
Gita): Those who are established within
themselves, see the Self in every creature, and all of creation within the Self.
